The finished bag should measure in the region of 8.5" wide by 11.00" long. The strap should be long enough to wear as an across body bag or a shoulder bag - 55" is suggested.
Those bags are used for all genders so think about the suitability of the fabric - unisex/ male/ female. Please prewash your fabrics before making.
The photo shows two bags. The blue one is made from quilting cotton with a patchwork panel inserted. The green one is made from a printed furnishing fabric. Both are lined with plain cotton fabric.
If you wish to look at making instructions you can refer to www.makingforcharity.co.uk. Of course you may have your own preferred way of making bags! You can also crochet or knit bags to the same size.
