The WI works to create a world where women can learn, share skills and work together to influence positive change all while having fun! It brings women of all ages and backgrounds together in friendship to enhance wellbeing, reduce social isolation and build community cohesion.
Once a month members come together companionably to learn through visiting speakers, demonstrations, or skill sharing. Each WI plans its own programme of activities and this programme is supplemented by additional events arranged by us - The Lancashire Federation of Women’s Institutes (LFWI). We support 6,100 members in the 145 WIs spread across rural villages, towns and cities in our region.
Fancy some taster sessions?
If you’d like to know more about the WI, you can attend up to 3 WI Meetings as a visitor without commitment to join. That way, you can get a flavour of WI life. Alternatively, you can contact the LFWI office (via 01772 459020 or officeadmin@lfwi.org.uk) who will be happy to help.
For those wondering..… you don’t have to be a master baker or a crafter extraordinaire to join - every member brings something individual and special to the WI and together we thrive.
